Here’s To Heart Health

Did you know your heart is about the size of your fist? Your heart is the engine that runs your circulatory system, which carries blood to and from all areas of your body. Your blood carries oxygen and nutrients to your organs and carbon dioxide to your lungs. If your heart isn’t working properly, it affects the whole system.

February is American Heart Month, a time to understand the risk factors for heart disease, the #1 killer in America. Heart disease is largely preventable by adopting and maintaining healthy habits: eat a healthy diet, get regular physical activity, manage stress, don’t smoke, and get enough sleep. It is also important to know your blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood glucose levels and take steps to keep them under control.

While February is Heart Month, heart health is a lifelong goal. Help spread the word about healthy heart habits. Share the informational flyers and resources at the link below with your employees.
