Changes are coming to the waiting periods on our Univera Dental Select voluntary plans. Effective January 1, 2019, we are waiving the waiting periods for timely entrants (eligibility as determined by the group). Contributory plans do not have waiting periods. This benefit change is being implemented on a group’s 2019 renewal.
A “Timely Entrant” is defined as:
- A group that is new to Univera Healthcare Dental and the member signs up within their eligibility period (within 31 days of their date of eligibility),
- A new hire who signs up for dental insurance within 31 days of becoming eligible, or
- A member who has a Qualifying Event can also sign up for dental without Waiting Periods.
Please note: we do not apply waiting periods to Preventive & Diagnostic services.
