Mental and physical health are equally important components of overall health and wellbeing. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing. It affects how we think, feel, and act. Poor mental health increases physical health risks, while poor physical health, especially having chronic conditions, impacts mental health.
Someone who is struggling with their mental health may find it hard to focus, have a tough time coping with stress, avoid spending time with friends and family, or have changes in their appetite or sleep. There are a lot of helpful resources available to people who are struggling, such as in-person counseling, virtual care, meditation apps, employee assistance programs, and national hotlines such as 988.
If someone you know is struggling, encourage them to find help. Our Mental Health Awareness Toolkit (ZIP) has tips and resources you can use and share. Download it today. If you have questions, please contact your account manager.
