As a reminder, changes to member ID cards went into effect on April 22, 2021, in accordance with the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) mandate. The state law required new minimum standards for content on member cards and applied to:

  • Medical and Medical/Pharmacy identification cards only
  • Both fully insured and self-funded groups
  • Policies and contracts issued, renewed, modified, or amended after April 22, 2021

Any group with a renewal date of January 1, 2022 will receive new member ID cards within 30 days of their effective date.
